Dr. Evan D. Collins is vice chairman of the Center for Performing Arts Medicine and chief of the Houston Methodist Hand & Upper Extremity Center at the Texas Medical Center. He holds a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College and is internationally recognized for his research and specialized treatments for injuries and conditions of the hand and upper extremity. He is an avid speaker and his research is published in surgical text books and peer reviewed journals, serving as a guide to hand surgeons. His latest research project focuses on the repetitive stress conditions affecting performing artists, particularly musicians, to identify evidence-based treatments and preventive therapies on which future treatment protocols for overuse and repetitive stress conditions can be modeled. Dr. Collins is a recognized Castle Connolly doctor and listed as a Top Doctor on leading local and international lists of top medical specialists, including US News & World Report’s Top Doctors, Newsweek’s Physician Showcase, Best Doctors in America, Texas Monthly Super Doctors and H Texas Top Docs.
